Waverly Labs Pilot Translation Earpieces
The earbuds that you may need on your next trip out the country
Pilot Translation Earpieces come equipped with a charging case helping keep you powered
Have you ever traveled someplace and not known the language in which the locals speak? We all know you can use things like Phrasebooks and Google Translate to get you through if you don't already know the language, but what if there was a device that could listen and translate the language in real time? Well you might not have to look any further than the Waverly Labs Pilot Translation Kit. The Waverly Labs Pilot Kit is still in its testing phase but still a very promising piece of tech. The device is made up of two parts, the standalone right and left earpieces and the Waverly translation app. This device works with ease, where you and the individual you are speaking to both need to download the mobile app. Next, you must sync phones using a QR code that the phone provides and when you have your headphones in, the device will record your voice and translate it in seconds on your phone and on the other individuals phone so you will be able to communicate. In addition, if the person you are trying to talk to also has their own set of headphones the device will speak a translated version to them through a computer voice. At the moment you need a data connection for everything to work but Waverly has stated that they are working on offline support for the device.
Pilot Translation Kits come in red, black and white
The Pilot Translation earpieces may be the key to language barriers that many of us go through. It is slated for its first devices to ship in the summer to those who funded it through Indiegogo with a payment of 249 dollars to secure their product. Those who didn't fund it can get their hands on it in the Fall when it goes on sale for 299 dollars. The device will support five languages at the start which are French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish and English. Moreover, you do not need the headphones to use the app but without the headphones you will be unable to use the service for free and will have to pay an additional fee per language added to the app. Later other languages will be supported such as Turkish, Hindi, Greek, Korean, Russian and more.
